Migrating to a place of peace with October’s New Moon ~

October 14, 2020 ~ It’s the balsamic phase of the moon, when my internal clock best aligns with the cosmos. When, instead of our early morning walk at our nearby mountain lake, my puppy, Rumi, and I go late in the afternoon and arrive just in time to hear the liberating call of migrating Sandhill Cranes that stirs my soul at least twice each year.I look up in time to witness their sky dance of peace and trust and all that is good as they crest a hill of pine trees. Hope swirls in my heart and my spirit lifts skyward with them as they dip, flow and dive – their formations leaving calligraphic imprints of wonder in the atmosphere. I’m transported. Together, our spirits head South, where the energy medicine of childhood, healing and growth reside. Where innocence calls us home to play. Together, we bask in the freedom that comes with faith, and then, without notice but with unbridled joy, we circle back,
as if to say this place is perfect, too.

Rumi and I come home and it’s still light, but barely. I’m placing the body of another winged one that I discovered in our forest after high winds upon a natural altar of quartz under an old fir tree when I hear another wave of cranes. I’m blessed to witness their jubilant recital above me again, as I bid this smaller relative of theirs farewell.

Winged ones hold a sacred place in my heart and in our world. Angels, archangels, birds, butterflies, and pollinators of all kinds call to me often, filling me with awe and appreciation. In this state of grace and receptivity, I know that all is well. I know that there is perfection in each moment, and that the truth abides here and now, always. We’re simply invited to show up.

I align with and follow the dance of planets and celestial bodies in the same way that I align with and follow the winged ones. I’m ever grateful for the moments of synchronicity when the messages I receive from the charts I’m reading find their way into the lives of those seeking celestial wisdom and connection before we meet.

For me, astrology is ultimately a language of validation and possibility, and being attuned to the natural world allows us to bring astrology to life. It centers us, and when we’re centered, we exist at the core of the divine celestial plan that we co-created. Here, we’re surrounded by the energies of all the planets and luminaries in the cosmos, and everything is possible.

It is from this space of expansion and faith that I welcome the gifts of October’s New Moon.  ~ The New Moon that arrives Friday, October 16, 2020 at 1:31 pm MDT at 23 degrees Libra, the Venus-ruled, cardinal, airy sign of equilibrium, harmony, justice and love. Libra represents eventide, when the veil between day and night thins just enough to shift our perceptions.

~ The New Moon that opposes Retrograde Mars in Aries, and ignites our expression of warrior energy to reach out for what we desire. Since Mars is retrograde, we should consider our desires carefully.

~ The New Moon that squares the Saturn, Jupiter and Pluto stellium in Capricorn, and encourages us to continue to acknowledge and release what trips us up as we aim to learn from, expand and transform the structures that limit our growing, evolving consciousness and way of being.

~ The New Moon that arrives just three days after Mercury entered its retrograde journey in Scorpio, the sign of transformation and power, and dares us to pause, listen and trust the truth when it shows itself.

~ The New Moon that implores us to come to the centered space of our hearts. Where the “I AM” energies of Aries and the “WE ARE” energies of Libra co-exist in balanced harmony together. Where all relations are elevated because each of us is at the center of our journey, gracing the unified whole with our presence.

Where my journey is yours and your journey is mine. Where – if we’re present and humble enough – we can be carried skyward with the migrating cranes and merge with the mystery and magic of the cosmos.

As Rumi and I go outside after the twilight sky fades tonight, we hear a third flock of cranes overhead. Their collective song draws me to Jupiter as it emerges in the southern sky and confirms what I know to be true: We are one ~ and blessed beyond measure to dwell together on this sacred Earth, our Mother. Here. Now. Always.

With great love.
Always Love ~

August’s New Moon in Leo ~ Being the Light and Catching the Wind

August’s New Moon in Leo occurs on the 18th at 8:42 pm MDT. She conjoins Mercury, the Messenger planet who brings illumination, and forms an inconjunction or quincunx aspect to Saturn in Capricorn, which defines our lives and levels of maturity.

She also creates a fiery trine to Mars in Aries which represents our drive for survival, forms a sextile to the North Lunar Node in Gemini, which shows us options, and semi-squares Venus in Cancer, who loves emotional security and family.

Ruled by the Sun, Leo highlights our life force. It involves our intrinsic birthright, the inheritance that we receive from the Giver of Life and Light.

When the Moon is in Leo, it serves to brighten the light of the Sun more than merely reflect it. When the energy of the Moon merges with the energy of the Sun in Leo, we can imagine the happy partnership of unconditionally loving parents who want nothing more than their offspring to shine. Positive expressions of this celestial partnership are willful action, creative self-expression, and joyful revelry. If the energy of the light is blocked or suppressed, it can be acted out in dramatic ego-driven, attention-seeking displays.

Saturn is currently retrograde in Capricorn, the sign it rules, taking us deeper into the arena of rights, responsibilities, boundaries, lessons, and, hopefully, maturity and wisdom. Saturn will remain in Capricorn for most of the rest of 2020, only moving back into Aquarius in mid-December, a few days before the Light returns on Winter Solstice.

We were given a glimpse of our limitless potential as humans when Saturn dipped into Aquarius in late March of this year. Its retrograde journey and proximity to retrograde Pluto and Jupiter in Capricorn demands that we claim ownership to the totality of our collective legacy. The Universe is giving us the chance to right wrongs and heal wounds beyond our imagination.

Everything we are experiencing now – the darkness and the light; the fear and the love; the greed and the generosity; the evil and the kindness; and every other polarity we can conjure, is part of the collective consciousness that we have shared for eons.

In Capricorn, Saturn’s boundaries are limited by our definition of humanity. Leo represents will. The inconjunction between the New Moon in Leo and Saturn in Capricorn can be resolved if we willallow ourselves to expand our current definition of what it means to be human. Our limits and boundaries can expand beyond our imagination.

Our his/her-story shows us that we often have to go backwards to go forward. With several planets and asteroids in retrograde motion now, that lesson is being broadcast across the skies and into our souls.

In January of 2020, during a moment of exquisite clarity, I noticed that the Sun’s light had shifted in a way that defied logic. During the 9 o’clock hour of the morning, the skies donned
the cloak of twilight. I simultaneously received the message to remember the light.

Those three words ~ remember the light ~ continue to give me hope.

When I was not quite 10 years old, Ms. Greene sat on the steps of our auditorium’s stage in our Catholic school. Her remarkably short, fitted kelly-green shift dress brought a breath of fresh air and color into the room. Her flowing red hair draped over the neck of her acoustic guitar as she cast a spell on us with her rendition of Bob Dylan’s song, Blowin’ in the Wind.

For several New Moon cycles now, the questions in Dylan’s lyrics have been reverberating in my mind. I see Ms. Greene in all of her height, color and confidence, and I hear her voice ring with clarity, passion and possibility.

That we will catch the answers to them in my lifetime is my prayer, still.

With great blessings of light and love.
Always love.

June 2020 ~ Pausing for Love

It’s June 4, 2020. I’m sitting outside with the setting sun in Gemini as the lark’s song coaxes the day to let go and rest. The Moon will rise tonight in her almost-full Sagittarian brilliance. Tomorrow, June 5th, 2020, brings a Penumbral Lunar Eclipse as she grows full in that truth-telling expansive sign.

If Gemini asks questions, Sagittarius is where answers dwell. It is the realm of expansion and growth, and few would argue that our country and our world are in grave need of both now.

Sorting through the rubble in cities across the United States, gentle kind souls are coming together to help us come clean and heal. Humans of all colors, in and out of uniforms, are kneeling in solidarity for a better, higher, and more expansive version of humanity. Countless people are sharing their truths, tears and hearts across the planet.

When I sit in this space of acknowledgement of and gratitude for all that is good in our world, my sense that we’re not out of the darkness yet softens and my hope for a brighter tomorrow – sooner rather than later – calls me home.

I’ve been going in and out of receptivity to it lately, so to be able to sit beside hope again as the day fades and the Moon rises soothes my soul. It feels as if a distant, yet primal memory is being revived.

Tomorrow’s Full Moon will shine her light across the globe from me during our afternoon, at 1:12 pm MDT, and her Penumbral Eclipse will peak at 1:25 pm MDT. The Sun will be at 15 degrees of Gemini next to Venus at 12 degrees Gemini. The Moon will be at 15 degrees of Sagittarius. The solar/lunar mutable opposition will form an exact T-square to Mars in Pisces. Less exact, but still important connections bring the energies of Ceres and Neptune in Pisces on either side of Mars into play.

T-squares, or any square aspects, in fact, can trip us up if we’re not paying attention. Eclipses always offer us a chance to clear the slate – to let go of what impedes our vitality and spirit. We’ll have not one, but two eclipses in June this year: tomorrow’s Penumbral Lunar one, and an Annular Solar Eclipse on the Summer Solstice at zero degrees Cancer, the sign of healing, nurturing and growth.

I’ve been taught that a grand square aspect can help the energy move or flow easier than a T-square aspect since there is a balancing point on any given side of the square. Without this balancing point, T-squares can be more rigid, and we can be caught off guard.

T-squares in mutable modalities (Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, Pisces) call for cooperation, flexibility and adaptability. With the warrior planet of Mars in the mix, and its square to Venus in Gemini, this one implores us to consider our thoughts, words, and actions before we form, speak and engage them.

According to older astrology texts, Mars in Pisces is said to be in its “fall” – a less than optimal placement as Mars is more aligned with the active, dynamic energy of Virgo that opposes Pisces. I prefer to think of this placement as an opportunity to surrender into a space that is bigger than ourselves.

What if we choose to to “fall” into compassion, forgiveness, divinity and unity?
These are the gifts that Piscean’s mastery offers.

For myself and many others born in the 1960’s, the mutable T-square created by the Lunar Eclipse that graces our skies tomorrow will be transformed into a grand mutable square or cross. The transit of Mars in Pisces will oppose our natal placement of Pluto in Virgo and offer a balancing point to help us shift the current state of our world.

Personally, my Plutonian placement is at exactly 15 degrees Virgo, marking this celestial event as more potent than most. Unconcerned with ego-driven expression, Pluto rules collective power. It holds the power to create and destroy life, to rebirth what seeks to be born. It is one of the three outer transpersonal planets, aligned with the greater evolution of humanity.
Those born under any given sign or expression of Pluto are bound by a shared vision and mission.

To that end, I’m being called to hold space for the deep level of transformation we need now, and I intend to spend the day in the sacred space of silence and meditation, lifting up what I know we collectively have the power to rebirth: LOVE.

It’s getting darker now. The lines of tangerine are thinning over the spine of the western horizon as cerulean expanses of sky shift into violet shadows. Bats swirl in and around the former paths of hummingbirds. The birds are quieting. A lone dog howls to my south. Another answers in the western distance as the wind picks up.

There is more that I can share about other key celestial aspects of support that tomorrow’s Full Moon and Partial Lunar Eclipse holds. Such as the cooperative semi-square to Saturn in Aquarius, where the energies of maturity and responsibility for all of humanity abide and, with a little connection and effort on our parts, can be embraced and expressed. Or the looser semi-square to Jupiter in Capricorn, where if we’re wise enough, we can expand our perspectives and consciousness. Or the cooperative trine to Chiron in Aries where we’re encouraged to heal our wounds in order to survive as a species. Or how Ceres in Pisces shows us how to nourish ourselves by surrendering to the eternal flow of life. Or how Neptune is in its element in Pisces, where we are each held in the sacredness and light of life, as spiritual beings sharing human experiences.

In this moment, though, I want to pause. I want to breathe. I want to let my tears fall with the light of the day as the rising moon’s silver light falls upon my back and casts my shadow upon the curve of the hillside beneath me.

I want to send my heart’s love around our planet Earth, this sacred and sublime home of ours. For the highest good of all relations.

With great love and blessings, always.
Always love.

Receiving the gifts of the Aquarian New Moon Cycle ~

The New Moon Cycle of Uranus-ruled Aquarius brings sudden insight to shake and wake us up. It invites us to step out of our comfort zones and asks us to stretch ourselves into the field of possibility. A fixed square from the New Moon and Sun in Aquarius to Uranus in Taurus adds extra tension to this process of letting go and moving on, but with focused attention and willingness, we can trust that we’ve been moving toward this moment all along.

Aspects from the Moon to the North Node in Cancer reminds us that self-care continues to be critical for our collective growth. Injecting our days with new ways to nurture our bodies, minds, and spirits serves us well. A cooperative connection to Chiron in Aries boosts our confidence.

This cycle also brings a mutable square between Mars in Sagittarius and Venus and Neptune in Pisces, so bringing a sense of flexibility and kindness to our interactions with others is encouraged. It also invites us to connect to the truth about what we want and then to let our hearts guide us in drawing it to us. If something is out of sync, this New Moon cycle will bring it to our attention. Trusting our inner guidance system is critical.

Desmond Tutu said, “My humanity is bound up in yours, for we can only be human together.”
As the Aquarian New Moon cycle continues, here’s to setting intentions that serve our well-being and our humanity with gratitude, grace, and love.

2020 ~ Breathing into the Mystery

This new decade beckons us to love what is, even as we transform our attachments to it and trust the process of our expansion and growth. We’re steeped in a time when the old ways of living are dying to what wants to be born, and the year’s first Penumbral Lunar Eclipse arrives on January 10th at 19 degrees Cancer to help us make these revolutionary – and evolutionary – shifts. Its maximum point is at 12:11 pm MST, just before the Full Moon peaks ten minutes later, at 20 degrees Cancer at 12:21 pm MST. As Pluto and Saturn come closer together and conjoin in Capricorn during this Lunar Eclipse in January, we are given the opportunity to encounter what happens when Mystery meets Reality.

When Pluto and Saturn meet in the sky, we are gifted with all that is possible.

At first, they glance furtively at each other, gauging their power and positions. Each of them feels secure in their stance and possesses a sense of pride in their sphere of influence. Saturn is the master of time, boundaries, and wisdom, and Pluto is the master of transformation, death, and rebirth; both are powerful in their own right.

They chance a longer, measured glance at each other and something else entirely emerges. A decision is made and they edge closer to each other while a vague sense of familiarity encircles them. The field of energy around and between them shimmers and flexes. It weaves between them, grows around them, and places them in uncharted territory. In this shared space, each of them feels stronger and more potent. Their understanding of themselves and their roles in the Celestial Universe morphs into something infinite and indefinable.

When Mystery and Reality dance together, everything is possible. When we breathe into the presence of what is, time, as we know it, ceases to exist. Awe, love, and appreciation seep into our awareness and our understanding of our place in the Celestial Universe shimmers and flexes.

If what we’ve built up until now in our personal lives and on a global scale isn’t working, we can call upon abundant celestial support to make positive changes this year. By first being honest about our beliefs and emotions concerning what we’re being called to restructure, we clear the way forward so we can engage in tangible, compassionate action steps.

Capricorn’s placement in our personal natal chart can guide us to where we need to evaluate our lives and release old ways of thinking, being, and living. Cancer’s presence shows us how to nurture ourselves through the challenges of embarking on this courageous journey.

This year, as we courageously step into the Celestial Universal field of possibility, may we glance at what is real and see the mysterious.

May we let curiosity bring us closer to each other and discover that our proximity makes us stronger.

May we be daring enough to hold the space for what is dying to do so.

And, when we’re steeped in infinite moments of awakened willingness and
authentic appreciation, may we welcome what is on its way.

With a deep and wide open heart, and infinite appreciation for what is, and all relations,
~ Christina

Gemini’s Full Moon ~ Starting the conversation

This month’s Full Moon in Gemini will call to us at 10:12 pm MST on December 11, 2019.

Ever curious, Gemini represents the perpetual student while Sagittarius symbolizes the teacher. This Full Moon may well bring answers to our questions if we are open-minded and courageous enough to ask them.

A T-square from the Full Moon in Gemini and the Sun in Sagittarius to Neptune in Pisces underscores the need for being open and willing to trust the guidance that we receive. It also encourages surrendering control and/or attachment to a certain outcome.

Gemini’s Full Moon also makes three inconjunctions to Venus, Saturn, and Pluto in Capricorn that need our attention. Unlike conjunctions where planets or luminaries partner with each other for mutual purposes, inconjunctions show planetary energies that don’t work together.

Imagine different relatives at the family table who won’t talk to each other – sometimes they need a guiding force to encourage amicable interaction. With some focus and willingness on our parts, this Full Moon in Gemini could spark the critical conversation we’ve been waiting for.

Capricorn has to do with maturity, wisdom, and responsibility. It represents the outer limits of our current evolutionary understanding. The Saturn, Venus, and Pluto stellium in Capricorn highlights boundaries and rights, values and love, personal and creative power respectively. Thanks to Capricorn, we are being shown our limits in each of these areas.

Another stellium in Capricorn (Jupiter, the South Lunar Node, and Ceres) underscores the importance of making the effort to show up and ask the tough questions.

  • What are the limits upon which our lives are built?
  • Are we content to continue to live within these boundaries? Or, is there more waiting for us?
  • What is possible when we suspend limiting, conditioned beliefs?
  • Who are we when we expand our beliefs about our power to co-create ourselves and what we experience?
  • What if we acknowledged doubt, regret, and/or blame about choices we’ve made on the way here and gave them a place at the table?
  • What if we agreed that we all bring something to our collective experience and decided that we wanted to contribute something more loving?

Here’s to continuing the conversation and stretching our limits of possibility…under the light of the Full Moon.

In 10 short days, on December 21, 2019, Winter Solstice will expand the lineup of Capricorn light in our skies and lives, and on December 25, 2019, the Capricorn New Moon and Solar Eclipse offer another fresh start. May we all take our places at the table and embrace the way forward with our collective heart.

With blessings, always,
~ Christina

p.s. December’s Advent Calendar of Inspiration from Nature and Souls that have blessed our Earth with their light continues to grow below this post. I hope that you enjoy breathing in the beauty that surrounds us on this globe that we are honored to call home.

Opening to the Gifts of Scorpio’s New Moon Cycle and Retrograde Mercury’s Blessings

Scorpio, the sign of the zodiac that demands integrity and authenticity, is upon us. It’s the sign of the impeccable detective that maneuvers comfortably in the dark corners of our psyches.
It senses BS from afar and will call it out – every time.

Dwelling in the autumnal season of transition, Scorpio serves the greater purpose of rebirth and exists to transmute that which is not aligned with our collective growth.

This year, Pluto-ruled Scorpio initiates a potent New Moon cycle on Sunday night, October 27th, 2019, at 9:38 p.m. MDT at 4 degrees, where it will form an exact opposition to retrograde Uranus in Venus-ruled Taurus.

The polarity of power (Pluto/Scorpio) and love (Venus/Taurus) abides here, and our purpose is simply to honor and balance both of these qualities. As one born with Mercury and other key luminaries in Scorpio, the simple but profound question that shows up for me now is this:

Can we allow love to transform us?

Scorpio’s powerful lunar cycle also brings abundant opportunities from Mercury, the Messenger planet, via two significant events.

The first gift is Mercury’s Retrograde (Rx) cycle that will begin on October 31st, Samhain/Halloween, and end on November 20, 2019. Although, the shadow period of this retrograde cycle began on October 12th, 2019 and will remain in play until December 8th.

While many people may cringe at the mention of retrograde Mercury and/or blame the Messenger planet for challenges they encounter, others (including myself) appreciate the wisdom of this cosmic event that helps us pause, get present, and reconsider all things having to do with communication. The areas of our lives where we’re asked to pay careful attention to our thoughts, intentions, beliefs, words, and actions vary, depending on the sign that Mercury journeys through during its retrograde period, and where and how that energy shows up in our natal chart.

In general, though, we can all benefit from knowing more about each Mercury retrograde cycle. In Scorpio, retrograde Mercury takes us deeper into what matters. Our integrity radar is on high alert and superficiality, dishonesty, and inauthenticity are scrutinized, and often brought out from the shadows into the light. Things will go smoother for everyone if we do our inner work, as challenging as that may be right now. It’s a perfect time to get to the heart of things – to be courageous enough to look within and see if the lives we’re living reflect what we find in our hearts.

The second blessing of this Scorpio New Moon cycle is Mercury’s transit of the Sun on 11/11/19. When any planet aspects the Sun, it amplifies the energy signature of that planet. When a planet transits the Sun, as Mercury will do, the energy signature of the transiting planet infuses the life force that the Sun beams to us.

Mercury transits the Sun on average only a little more than a dozen times each century – unlike Venus, which transits the Sun on average only twice during the same period.

Our last Venus transit occurred in June of 2012, and from an astrological perspective, it blessed the Earth with a powerful infusion of Divine Feminine Love bathed in the brilliance of Gemini, the perpetual student and messenger that Mercury rules in the zodiac.

Our last Mercury transit was in May of 2016 and our next one will occur in November of 2032.

Composite image of Mercury transiting across the sun on 9 May, 2016, as seen by HMI on NASA’s Solar Dynamics Observatory. Credit: NASA/SDO

The approaching Mercury transit of the Sun on 11/11/19 will occur while Mercury is retrograde and will begin its journey at 19 degrees Scorpio.

The Sabian symbol for 19 degrees Scorpio is: A parrot repeats a conversation he has overheard. According to Dane Rudhyar in his book, An Astrological Mandala, this zodiacal degree has to do with the the faith and capacity to transmit wisdom beyond one’s normal level of understandingHe writes, “The mind that has learned to be silent and attentive can become attuned to the rhythm of utterances which he may not comprehend intellectually, yet which may truly manifest superhuman realizations. Discrimination is needed to balance the overeagerness of faith.”

By the ever present grace of Spirit, Mercury’s celestial journey across the morning Sun will find me with fellow astrology students and teachers on a rise of sacred red earth in Sedona. We’ll sit in a circle of love, quiet our minds, ground our bodies, and open our hearts and souls toward the East, the place of New Beginnings and Possibilities, and we’ll see what the light and shadows bring forth.

The following day, November 12, 2019, the Moon will wax full at 19 degrees Taurus as it reflects the light of the Sun at 19 degrees Scorpio. The Sabian symbol for 19 degrees Taurus is: A new continent is rising out of an ocean. Rudhyar writes, “When the mind has been emptied and light has been called upon to purify the consciousness freed from its attachment and contaminations, a new release of life can emerge out of the infinite Ocean of potentiality, the Virgin SPACE. What will it be used for?”

It is my heart’s desire that Scorpio’s gifts are discovered and embraced by each of us, so that we may rise into the realm of love and power…together.

Blessings and Love, always Love, for all relations ~

Libra’s New Moon and the Space Between Us ~

I love Libra, and Libra’s New Moon cycle offers some amazing opportunities for reflection. It also holds abundant gifts of appreciation, balance, peace, and harmony through connections with others.

So, let’s center ourselves. Let’s breathe into this moment, this space, when the Moon is in the balsamic phase of darkness just before her new light returns in Libra tomorrow, September 28, 2019, at 12:26 pm MDT. The balsamic phase is where ideas coalesce, so let’s marinate here for a moment.

Continuing to notice our breath, let’s feel our feet on the ground rooting into the Earth – and let’s feel our hearts lifting and connecting to the Cosmos.

When we’re centered within ourselves in this way, between Earth and Above,
we’re in the realm of Aries.

The journey from fiery Aries to airy Libra takes us from our centers into the spaces that exist between us. The New Moon in Venus-ruled Libra reminds us that the quality of the space between us depends on what we bring to it.

New moons in general are ideal times to set intentions, and this one has some amazing aspects that offer much potential for us to manifest them.

One of these aspects is the New Moon’s opposition to the asteroid Chiron in Aries, the wise healer that supports our survival. If we’re willing to step outside of ourselves on the way from Aries to Libra, we can see our reflection in others. If we’re willing to go even deeper, we’ll appreciate our ability to mirror them, as well. Bravely taking this journey with compassion guiding us brings balance and harmony to the ways we live, heal, and express ourselves.

Another potent aspect of this New Moon in Libra is a T-square to Saturn and the South Lunar Node in Capricorn, and the North Nodal Node in Cancer. This connection helps us release lessons and habits from the past that no longer serve our best expression. It also reminds us to adopt a willingness to take responsibility for practicing loving self-care and for fulfilling our needs.

Finally, this New Moon makes an exact inconjunction to Uranus in Taurus. A conjunction is a supportive aspect where energies pair up close to each other, while an inconjunction is the opposite. Inconjunctions require us to notice the disconnection and correct our course, if needed. Uranus in Taurus wants us to really get in touch with our values, and the New Moon’s aspect to it implores us to connect with what really matters so that we can restore balance and harmony to our lives.

The upshot of this New Moon is that it’s time. It’s time to show up and make our intentions matter, because they truly do. Together, we can know and appreciate balance, peace, and harmony – where we all mirror the best of each other. Let’s do this!

With much love and harmony, always,
Christina ~

Virgo’s New Moon Cycle ~ Embodying the Essential Self

All of us have the potential to be nourished by the Moon’s journey into Virgo, which occurs on August 30th, 2019, in the wee hours just before dawn at 4:37 am MDT, when some of us will
still be dreaming in the land of shadows.

Virgo’s Healing Earthy New Moon reminds me of why I garden and how it feeds my soul.

~ Feeling the damp soil in my fingers and on my cheek as I brush my hair away in the wind.

~ Tuning into the harmony of pollinators – from the buzzing bees to the whirring hummingbirds dashing from one source of life to another.

~ Delighting in the simplicity of chickadees and juncos bathing in the fountain, or the joyful surprise of Anna’s hummingbirds showering in the mist from the garden hose.

~ Finding peace in the vigilant silence of the baby rabbit nibbling on clover, trusting me completely to continue planting Sweet Williams by her side.

~ Appreciating the focused industry of ground squirrels and chipmunks gathering what they need for the coming winter.

~ Watching in awe as arachnids move about Her skin – from great grey wolf spiders camoflauged in the dirt to ancient orb weavers creating suspended works of art in the air.

~ Inhaling the manna of petrichor – the earthy aroma produced when rain falls on dry soil.
How perfect that the word petrichor is constructed from the Greek language –  petra meaning “stone”, and īchōr meaning “the fluid that flows in the veins of the Gods in Greek mythology.”
Of course, I would add that it flows in the veins of Goddesses, too.

Virgo is all about the Feminine Earth Goddess and
Her gardens of Life and Love with which she blesses us.

If we’re alert and open enough to her healing energy now, we’ll discover that we feel a bit more present – a bit more grounded – and a bit more nourished than we were just moments ago.

Our perfect selves yearn for our purest intentions to be expressed during this auspicious time. The clearer and more committed we are to what matters now, the easier our efforts will be in the month ahead. Virgo loves action, effort, order, and routine – and it thrives on efficiency.

This moon cycle invites us to make what we’re working on count, and its Earthy trine to Uranus in Taurus and Saturn in Capricorn supports our efforts to that end.

This Lunar Goddess also aligns with both Mars and Venus in Virgo, blessing us with the perfect balance and wholeness of masculine and feminine energies. It longs for us to claim what we desire and what we value, and it encourages us to clarify what we’re willing to give and what we’re willing to receive.

We are to call forth, ground into, and embody that which is natural and essential ~ that which is whole, unified, and perfect ~ that which is universal and right here in front of us, always: our genuine and magnificent selves.

So it is and so it shall be. Always, healing. Always, love. Always, blessings.

For all relations ~

Entering the Portal of Light of Leo’s New Moon Cycle

Our motivation and willingness to be fully alive falls under Leo’s spotlight during tonight’s New Moon cycle. At 9:12 pm MDT, it joins Venus and together, the Sun, Moon, and Venus in Leo create a fiery trine to Ceres in Sagittarius and Chiron in Aries.

The Sun in Leo beams Source energy that stokes our inner flame. The Moon in Leo reflects that brilliance. Venus in Leo loves all forms of radiant beauty, especially if they have an element of performance. Ceres in Sagittarius gestates expansion. Chiron in Aries offers a healing bridge to our survival.

If we connect to this portal of light and accept the gifts of courage, beauty, love, and healing power that it offers, we can ignite the spark of creativity waiting inside each of us and enlighten our world.

As an activator of life, Sun-ruled Leo also shines the light on our inheritance. Our talents, gifts, strengths, courage, shadows, fears, values, beliefs, ideas, behaviors – literally everything we think, do, and have is tied to what came before. Evaluating whether or not what we hold and share is worthy of the stage is especially important now.

How much of what we carry belongs to a lineage whose time has passed?

Another potent trine from this New Moon connects to Jupiter at 14 degrees Sagittarius. There is a quality to the degree of 14 Sagittarius that goes beyond linear time. where the potential exists for actions taken now to affect the past and the present simultaneously. If we had the power to bend time – to transcend the boundaries of it – what would we do with that ability? Would we heal old wounds? Would we bless them for their wisdom, and in doing so, honor what came before?

The New Moon and Sun also square Uranus in Taurus, challenging us to choose our values with great care, because what we focus on brings more of the same. In the midst of rapidly changing times, we’re standing on the foundation of what came before and building what will come. If we have the courage to shape it with love, we’ll all win.

Hummingbirds dash, sing, and dart their way about pine boughs under a sky brushed with wisps of angels’ wings and a single dragonfly weave its trail of mystery around me. The joy of life’s magic can be just tiny enough to give us pause, or it can be so magnificent that it engulfs us.

Here’s to entering tonight’s portal of light
and being open to what it sparks!

With Great Love, always,
Christina ~
