October’s Blue Taurean Moon ~ Illuminating the Power of Love ~

October’s end brings a Blue Moon on the morning of All Hallows’ Eve, at 8:49 am MDT. Her light is growing as I write this and her glow spills over my left shoulder. I spent the last Full Moon in Taurus in the sacred lands of Sedona, pictured below. As I recall the moment when the Moon claimed her place in the evening sky, my heart fills with a sense of hopefulness and possibility. I’m transported to the red Earth where our ancestors walked, danced, sang, prayed, and blessed the desert with tears of joy and grief. Halloween, or Samhain, is a time when the veil between worlds thins, when we honor those that have gone before us. Blue Moons, the second Full Moon of any given month, serve to thin the veil even more, giving us a rare opportunity to connect with the realm of Spirit on a deeper level than normal.

This Full Moon in Taurus, will be exactly conjunct Retrograde Uranus at eight degrees, while the Sun opposes them in Scorpio. Uranus is the planet of change and inspiration, usually sudden and beyond our realm of control. It’s transpersonal and invested in the growth of humanity. It implores us to consider what is good for the whole and motivates us to expand our personal Saturnian boundaries and limits.

In Taurus, Uranus aims to remodel our relationship to what matters to us. Practical values come to mind, but so do matters of the heart, for Taurus is ruled by Venus, the planet of love.
Its retrograde position deepens this process of exploration and discovery.

If the lives we’re living aren’t aligned with our highest ideals, we’re likely to experience change. One of the key things to keep in mind when Uranus is activated is that while we cannot control circumstances and events outside of ourselves, we can definitely control our responses to them. When responsibility is understood as our ‘ability to respond’ it changes everything.

Opposite the Moon, the Sun in Scorpio brings us to consider power – both creative
and destructive. Scorpio is ruled by Pluto, the planet of transformation, whose power can be seen in nature during the changing seasons and in the cycles of life of all sentient beings on Earth. It carries the energy of water and forces what is circulating beneath the surface to show itself.

We can harness the power of opposing planets and luminaries by embodying the gifts of each one. Grounded to the Earth in the center of opposing forces, we are at our strongest and able to weather the changes that come our way.

This Full Moon in Taurus offers us the opportunity to stand in the center of love and power. It takes great courage to stand in love in the face of uncertainty. To know that love is the most powerful force on our planet, and to trust that when applied to any situation, it transforms and elevates the outcome.

As the Moon rises, falls, and waxes during the coming days and peaks on All Hallows’ Eve, I’m sending massive courage to all relations – past, present and future – to embody love
and power, for the highest good of all sentient beings. To our ancestors who illuminated paths upon Earth before us and continue to light the
way forward, I send infinite gratitude, blessings and love.

Always, Love.

By the Light of the Full Moon in Libra ~

Lunar Blessings in Libra on this last day of March ~

She squared Mars and Saturn in Capricorn early this morning (6:37 am MDT), while the Arian Sun that reflected her beauty hugged Mercury in its retrograde phase, heightening the polarity of self and other.

Whenever the cardinal signs of fiery Aries and airy Libra are activated, I’m driven to find the center point between myself and others.

Who am I?

Who are you?

And most critically – especially now – who are we together?

Her square to strong forces in Capricorn takes me to the landscape of boundaries and lines.

We draw them every day, every moment, as we create patterns in our brains – and our lives.
We constantly revisit and retrace old tracks of opinions, assessments, definitions, judgments, and we make decisions from our inner, comfortable landscape.

Unless…we allow space, which is one of Libra’s gifts, to permeate our conditioning.

Unless…we breathe into the silence of presence and consideration.

Unless…we dare to carve new pathways that create unfamiliar yet exciting new connections within ourselves and with others.

Consideration and Cooperation. Courage and Action.

If we’re open enough…

If we’re daring enough…

These are the blessings of Libra’s Full Moon, and what I wish for us, always ~

Creative Fire – Future Mind

The year’s first Total Lunar Eclipse occurs on January 31st at 11 degrees Leo. She’s Super (closest to the Earth) and Blue (the 2nd Full Moon in the month) – although, if we’re lucky enough to glimpse her, she’ll appear red during the eclipse, like the one pictured below. In the Mountain Time Zone, I’ll be joining her at 5:31 am in the western sky.

This powerful Moon joins Ceres, one of 4 asteroids that represent different faces of creative energy, at that same 11th degree of Leo. Ceres is known for her mothering and nurturing qualities, and she is fiercely dedicated to our growth. In Leo, she sparks us to bring our creative nature to fruition. What passions burn in our souls? In what ways do we seek to illumine the lives of those around us? How will we shine and warm others with our flames? Can we open our minds and hearts enough to be warmed by others?

The Moon’s Fullness in Leo comes from reflecting the Sun’s Aquarian glow, so our creative juices are best spent serving the whole of us, and not just for today, but tomorrow, and many days to come. The Sun will be conjunct Venus in Aquarius, inviting us to embrace love with impartiality and openness, and Juno, another asteroid that reflects the light of Spirit. In Aquarius, she supports us to suddenly manifest our hopes and wishes.

The Moon is also conjunct the North Node in Leo, calling us to strike the balance point between the best of Leo and Aquarius. Will we spark our creative fire to ignite our future mind?

Leo’s gifts are like that of its ruler, the Sun. It shines for all of life – and all of us – without expectations or conditions.  Aquarius offers gifts of impartial genius. Its ruler is Uranus, the great disrupter who snaps us to attention. It brings spontaneous inspiration and sudden changes that shake us out of our comfort zones. It asks us to take the hawk’s or eagle’s view – to see beyond the tiny stages where our individual lives play out – to distance ourselves from drama and connect to our collective sentient family. May we be like the Sun, nurture like the moon, see like the Hawk and Eagle, and co-create a world we love!

Eclipses bring opportunities for fresh starts. This one, in fixed signs, serves to help us release outworn paths of yesterday – places where we dig in; routes that are worn out; mundane habits that we move through without awareness; routines, patterns, ruts, and grooves carved in our brains – individually and collectively.

Beliefs about ourselves, beliefs about others, and beliefs about our connections with others – especially those that we’ve held for eons – come onto the stage now.

How they play out is entirely up to us.

Which roles, if any, will we hang onto?
Which roles will we cast off to make room for what is inspired?
How willing are we to enter a new realm of what is possible for our future selves?

With infinite willingness and blessings,
Christina
