There is an exact sextile between Neptune at 15º Pisces and Saturn at 15º Capricorn, and today’s New Moon, on February 4th, 2019 at 2:03 pm MST, is positioned precisely in between them at 15º Aquarius. This forms two semisextiles – one that is waxing to Neptune and one that is waning to Saturn.
Neptune and Saturn represent completely different energy patterns, bringing what is ideal (Neptune/Pisces) and what is realistic (Saturn/Capricorn) into our field of awareness. Sextiles are generally cooperative, giving us a boost of momentum to move forward.
With the semisextiles in place, this New Moon’s cycle is inviting us not only to examine what we’re willing to do, and choose which way we’re going to go, but also to assess our progress (or lack thereof) from the past.
Have we released enough of what needs to go in order to manifest our dreams and co-create what is possible for our collective highest good, or do we have more cleaning up to do?
Are we ready to forgive the past, each other, and ourselves for what was and what is?
Do we trust ourselves and each other to give structure to what our imaginations are showing us so that we can build new ground to stand upon together?
While we consider these questions, we may well notice a strong pull to stay entrenched in the status quo – or, at the very least, we may sense mounting tensions as we attempt to break free.
Capricorn shows us the limits of our current evolutionary level of maturity, while Aquarius takes us into the future – the realm of unlimited possibilities. Saturn is moving closer to Pluto in Capricorn, while Uranus and Mars are joining forces in the end degree of Aries. Uranus is the ruling planet of Aquarius that shakes us out of Saturn’s ruts, and Mars is the ruling planet of Aries that drives us to reach out and express our desires. Aries is all about survival – of self, species, and life. It shows us a new beginning – with Uranus and Mars there, we’re given the gift of aligning with a brighter tomorrow.
Meanwhile, a challenging square from both Uranus and Mars in Aries to Pluto in Capricorn calls us to make sure that loose ends are cleaned up and transformed. Pluto always initiates changes for the higher, collective good – it’s less concerned with ego-driven personal power struggles. We can only change what we’re willing to look at and own.
At the same time, another square from Neptune in Pisces to Jupiter in Sagittarius reminds us to see things from a higher, idealistic view, but warns against overreaching. Fortunately, a trine takes us from Uranus and Mars to Venus in Capricorn, where a more mature expression of love awaits.
With the fiery Aries energy squaring earthy Capricorn, and the old/new, real/ideal, push/pull energy patterns in play, the more time we take to mindfully assess and restructure our beliefs, patterns, values, and behaviors, the better off we’ll be – both personally and collectively. As this month’s New Moon emerges, the question really comes down to this:
How much better can we be?
Happy New Moon in Aquarius ~ the #whatelseispossible Moon.
Blessings always, and hope for what else is possible…
