In perfect alignment with Divine order, the New Moon in Taurus greets us
on the evening of the 50th anniversary of Earth Day, April 22, 2020 at 8:26 pm MDT!
Earthy Taurus welcomes 3 luminaries on this special day – the Sun, Moon, and Uranus.
Uranus in Taurus reminds us that what matters to us now really matters because Taurus is the embodiment of the law of attraction – where like attracts like and we draw to us exactly what we focus upon. Uranus moving through that kind of powerful magnetic space charges it with elements of innovation, inspiration and change. We’ve been asked to consider our values and to examine what it is that we hold dear….what it is that we love.
As I study the skies during the dark balsamic phase of the Moon tonight, I am struck by the degrees of Taurus that the New Moon, Sun, and Uranus will embrace and their corresponding Sabian Symbols.
The New Moon and Sun will occupy the space in Taurus at 3 degrees – the symbol for which is “Natural steps up to a lawn blooming with clover.” This symbol speaks of hope that is within reach – even though some action is necessary on our part it shouldn’t be overly difficult. The promise of something nurturing and good is on the horizon. Imagine the simplicity of playing barefoot on grassy fields while bees dance about the blossoms. The breeze blows our cares away and joy fills the spaces where fear used to dwell. If we engage in life with a playful heart and take the steps that are in front of us, we can know harmony, beauty, and peace. Venus-ruled Taurus owns all of these things and more. This symbol shows us that while we’re encouraged to enjoy the journey, we can risk not embracing abundance if we’re unwilling to make any effort at all.
Uranus holds its position at 6 degrees Taurus and invokes the symbol “A bridge being built across a high narrow gorge.” This symbol speaks to the bigger challenge of getting past some separateness or distance in order to get to a new, higher place. It calls us to find creative solutions to connect to others or to solve some problem that we’re facing. Our success lies in our ability to ask for and receive help, as well as to offer our own services toward the solution. The bridge serves all who need to get to the new ground, so working together is prudent and practical. This symbol requires us to build structures that span distances between places or people and time and space. If we’re willing to work together, we can overcome physical barriers and limitations.
Yes, the New Moon and Sun in Taurus squares Saturn in Aquarius, and Jupiter, Pluto, and Vesta in Capricorn. Yes, we’re facing extraordinary challenges now. The New Moon and Sun also form a cooperative sextile to the North Lunar Node in Cancer, where self care is held sacred.
Yes, there is hope. We are creative beings endowed with the most powerful force in the Universe: LOVE. We have each other, and we’re ever supported by countless beings who’ve gone before us, and who’ve yet to arrive.
Here’s to planting new seeds of life and love on our planet on this
50th anniversary of Earth Day and New Moon cycle in Taurus ~ for all relations.
With great gratitude and love,
