Honoring the space between no longer and not yet ~

As the calendar year turns from 2016 to 2017 in our western culture and I consider the alignment of the cosmos to our planet Earth, this quote by Nancy Levin strikes me:

Honor the space between no longer and not yet.

Essentially, this space is the present moment. The sacred now. Much of how we approach astrology involves looking ahead, and prior years have found me falling into that pattern, but the pull I am feeling to be in this moment, right here, right now, is stronger than old habits.

I was practicing my meditation and affirming my intentions for the coming year on January first of 2017. I noticed that the nature of my intentions shifted from years past. Instead of listing goals related to tangible achievements, I found myself affirming things like honoring my intuition more, spending time in nature daily, listening to my body when making decisions, really looking into the eyes and hearts of those I see, and asking Spirit for guidance more often and then trusting what I am shown. As the Sun dropped beneath the mountains to the west, the clouds formed an exclamation point. Literally! The emphatic YES! from the Universe made me laugh aloud.

In the fading light, a flock of crows flew from south to north, cawing in flight. One alit on a tall Douglas Fir to my left, its profile silhouetted by the sky’s last slip of gold. Crow medicine speaks of Universal Law, where the ability to gather wisdom and truth from all levels of time into the present moment is possible. The necessity of this medicine in our world is clear to me. We can – and must – learn from the past while letting it go. We can – and must – plant intentions for the future while growing in the present moment. Indeed, this moment is the only place we can bring our wisdom to bear on the world – where we can create what we intend – where we can bring the Spirit in us to life.

Honoring the Now ~

May we each seek and find the magic of life in each moment. It is here. Now. May we notice the shifts in the wind and the changing shapes of the clouds. May we hear the wisdom of the natural world, from the ice crystals that freeze autumn leaves in rivers to the animal messengers who speak to us. May we know that each moment ~ and each of us ~ holds great magic and power, and may we honor the NOW with an emphatic YES!

With deep trust in the magic of our world and our higher selves to honor it,

Christina ~
