June 2020 ~ Pausing for Love

It’s June 4, 2020. I’m sitting outside with the setting sun in Gemini as the lark’s song coaxes the day to let go and rest. The Moon will rise tonight in her almost-full Sagittarian brilliance. Tomorrow, June 5th, 2020, brings a Penumbral Lunar Eclipse as she grows full in that truth-telling expansive sign.

If Gemini asks questions, Sagittarius is where answers dwell. It is the realm of expansion and growth, and few would argue that our country and our world are in grave need of both now.

Sorting through the rubble in cities across the United States, gentle kind souls are coming together to help us come clean and heal. Humans of all colors, in and out of uniforms, are kneeling in solidarity for a better, higher, and more expansive version of humanity. Countless people are sharing their truths, tears and hearts across the planet.

When I sit in this space of acknowledgement of and gratitude for all that is good in our world, my sense that we’re not out of the darkness yet softens and my hope for a brighter tomorrow – sooner rather than later – calls me home.

I’ve been going in and out of receptivity to it lately, so to be able to sit beside hope again as the day fades and the Moon rises soothes my soul. It feels as if a distant, yet primal memory is being revived.

Tomorrow’s Full Moon will shine her light across the globe from me during our afternoon, at 1:12 pm MDT, and her Penumbral Eclipse will peak at 1:25 pm MDT. The Sun will be at 15 degrees of Gemini next to Venus at 12 degrees Gemini. The Moon will be at 15 degrees of Sagittarius. The solar/lunar mutable opposition will form an exact T-square to Mars in Pisces. Less exact, but still important connections bring the energies of Ceres and Neptune in Pisces on either side of Mars into play.

T-squares, or any square aspects, in fact, can trip us up if we’re not paying attention. Eclipses always offer us a chance to clear the slate – to let go of what impedes our vitality and spirit. We’ll have not one, but two eclipses in June this year: tomorrow’s Penumbral Lunar one, and an Annular Solar Eclipse on the Summer Solstice at zero degrees Cancer, the sign of healing, nurturing and growth.

I’ve been taught that a grand square aspect can help the energy move or flow easier than a T-square aspect since there is a balancing point on any given side of the square. Without this balancing point, T-squares can be more rigid, and we can be caught off guard.

T-squares in mutable modalities (Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, Pisces) call for cooperation, flexibility and adaptability. With the warrior planet of Mars in the mix, and its square to Venus in Gemini, this one implores us to consider our thoughts, words, and actions before we form, speak and engage them.

According to older astrology texts, Mars in Pisces is said to be in its “fall” – a less than optimal placement as Mars is more aligned with the active, dynamic energy of Virgo that opposes Pisces. I prefer to think of this placement as an opportunity to surrender into a space that is bigger than ourselves.

What if we choose to to “fall” into compassion, forgiveness, divinity and unity?
These are the gifts that Piscean’s mastery offers.

For myself and many others born in the 1960’s, the mutable T-square created by the Lunar Eclipse that graces our skies tomorrow will be transformed into a grand mutable square or cross. The transit of Mars in Pisces will oppose our natal placement of Pluto in Virgo and offer a balancing point to help us shift the current state of our world.

Personally, my Plutonian placement is at exactly 15 degrees Virgo, marking this celestial event as more potent than most. Unconcerned with ego-driven expression, Pluto rules collective power. It holds the power to create and destroy life, to rebirth what seeks to be born. It is one of the three outer transpersonal planets, aligned with the greater evolution of humanity.
Those born under any given sign or expression of Pluto are bound by a shared vision and mission.

To that end, I’m being called to hold space for the deep level of transformation we need now, and I intend to spend the day in the sacred space of silence and meditation, lifting up what I know we collectively have the power to rebirth: LOVE.

It’s getting darker now. The lines of tangerine are thinning over the spine of the western horizon as cerulean expanses of sky shift into violet shadows. Bats swirl in and around the former paths of hummingbirds. The birds are quieting. A lone dog howls to my south. Another answers in the western distance as the wind picks up.

There is more that I can share about other key celestial aspects of support that tomorrow’s Full Moon and Partial Lunar Eclipse holds. Such as the cooperative semi-square to Saturn in Aquarius, where the energies of maturity and responsibility for all of humanity abide and, with a little connection and effort on our parts, can be embraced and expressed. Or the looser semi-square to Jupiter in Capricorn, where if we’re wise enough, we can expand our perspectives and consciousness. Or the cooperative trine to Chiron in Aries where we’re encouraged to heal our wounds in order to survive as a species. Or how Ceres in Pisces shows us how to nourish ourselves by surrendering to the eternal flow of life. Or how Neptune is in its element in Pisces, where we are each held in the sacredness and light of life, as spiritual beings sharing human experiences.

In this moment, though, I want to pause. I want to breathe. I want to let my tears fall with the light of the day as the rising moon’s silver light falls upon my back and casts my shadow upon the curve of the hillside beneath me.

I want to send my heart’s love around our planet Earth, this sacred and sublime home of ours. For the highest good of all relations.

With great love and blessings, always.
Always love.

Expanding into the Light of the Full Moon in Sagittarius ~

The Gemini New Moon cycle that we’re currently in culminates in the fullness of 25° Sagittarius on Monday June 17th, 2019 at 2:31 am MDT, during the dark hours of the morning. She’s joining Jupiter on the way so we’re likely already feeling the pull to become more of who we want to be.

Later on Monday morning at 9:13 am MDT, the Moon will shift into Capricorn and show us how far we’ve come…or how far we have yet to go!

Since the universal law of attraction holds that what we focus on expands, this Gemini Moon cycle that began on June 3rd inspired me to celebrate and appreciate the blessings that surround me everyday. The abundance of beauty and magic in the natural world is boundless and with my attention and appreciation, its energy expands my Soul well beyond what I can see and touch. To glimpse some of these moments of inspiration from Nature and to get my blogpost updates, see my Facebook page here. If you’re feeling inspired to like the page, know that it’s appreciated!

Mercury, Mars and the South Lunar Node are currently in Cancer, inviting us to feel into the flow of a stream of heart-centered consciousness. They oppose Saturn, Pluto, and the North Lunar Node in Capricorn showing us the limits of our evolution.

Nurturing ourselves with authenticity and absolute love brings us to the center of the polarity of Cancer and Capricorn and allows us to grow into our potential as human beings.

Dropping into our hearts allows us to feed the seeds of possibility
that we’ve planted for eons.

We can think of all things in Cancer as infantile and needing care and attention. If we look to Nature for inspiration now in the west, we’ll see new babies of various species emerging on wobbly legs and untested wings making their way forward into the world.

Like them, we all have a universal need for unconditional love inside of us and crave support to explore the world without fear. Imagine that we cared for ourselves in the same way that we’re instinctively driven to care for those newly born.

What tenderness would appear and fill our moments?
What growth would we experience?
How much expansion would we know?

If Cancer is infancy, Capricorn is maturity, wisdom, and experience. It represents the pinnacle of achievement that comes from taking personal responsibility for our lives and the world that we are co-creating. When we express the best of both of these energy signatures, we become exponentially powerful.

Nothing less than this is being asked of us now:
to empower, express, and embrace new versions of ourselves
and the world that we share with all sentient beings.

May we expand together and enjoy the journey
to a brighter expression of love, life, and joy…for all relations.

With overflowing appreciation and blessings, always,

the mutability of things ~ Summer Solstice 2016 ~

On this eve of Summer Solstice, as a snow-white thunderhead catches the last flicker of light from the Sun tucking into the mountains in the West and edges closer to the dancing Red Planet in the South, I am reminded of the mutability of things.

solstice eveThe clouds have been speaking to me lately. They speak of how moistened air instantly shifts what it touches and what we see; they speak of how our beliefs can change with the speed of thought; they speak of how our yearning to converse and connect with others is as deep and necessary as our need to breathe; they speak of how each phase of the breath (the inhale, the pause, the exhale, the pause) are integral to the whole – the essence of the breath. Without any one of these components, they say, the breath – would not be. Without one, the other would not be. Without the other, one would not be.

Tomorrow’s Full Moon (June 20, 2016) brings all things mercurial to light just before dawn in the mountains of Colorado (5:02 am MDT). At the end degrees of Sagittarius and Gemini, we’re invited to celebrate what we’ve learned and the myriad ways that our awareness has expanded. A Grand Mutable Cross between Mercury, Jupiter, Saturn, and Neptune emphasizes the value of flexibility, of changing our fixed patterns of limiting thoughts and beliefs, and flowing into that expansion. What if the patterns that shape our worldview were not fixed? What if we could, quite literally, lighten up? What if we approached obstacles with a breath of fresh air? These are the questions that drift before me now.

Most especially, this one: What if we trusted our highest truths? The ones that honored the relationship of the one and the other?

Later tomorrow (June 20, 2016 at 4:34 pm MDT), the fluctuating nature of the Sun in Gemini will give way to the Lunar-ruled nourishing ways of Cancer, marking the longest day and the Summer Solstice in the western world. By then, the Moon will have left Sagittarius and entered the wise and mature realm of Capricorn. The Sun and Venus will caress each other in Cancer, helping us to feel our way through it all – through the tears, the joys, the beginnings and endings, the life and the loss. Their joining will support us in honoring each phase of our evolution – each part of the collective breath that we share as
ever-growing beings on this planet, our home for now.

The Grand Mutable Cross will still be in alignment and the question remains – will we?
As we are shown what is and what isn’t working in our lives and our world, (as Mercury in Gemini, and Jupiter in Virgo are want to do) and what foundations that we stand upon are too rigid or limiting for these changing times (as Saturn in Sagittarius and Neptune in Pisces are known to bring up), how will we respond? As our ‘reality’ (Saturn) encounters our ‘ideals’ (Neptune) how will we reconcile the differences, if we find them? How willingly and gracefully shall we bring the truth to light?

With growing faith in the mutability and beauty of things – and our Earthship Crew –
I send infinite blessings in the pauses of each breath on every cloud ~ christina
